Salvia hispanica or commonly known as chia, is a species of flowering plant in the mint family, Lamiacease, native to central and southern Mexico and Guatemala. Chia is grown commercially, mainly in several countries of western South America, western Mexico and the Southwestern United States, for its seed or we call it as chia seeds.
